Timothy
Vernon - Artistic Director
Orchestra London is proud to have one of the best
conductors in Canada on our staff. Our Music Director
and Principal Conductor, Maestro Timothy Vernon, is
a familiar figure on the podiums of Canada’s
most important orchestras and opera companies. Maestro
Vernon also continues his role as Artistic Director
of Pacific Opera Victoria, a post he has held since
that company’s inception in 1980. Timothy has
led over 40 of its 50 productions including the first
staged Canadian presentations of L’amore dei
tre re and Weber’s Der Freischütz. He has
also led Fidelio, produced for TV and broadcast by
the PBS and CBC networks. As well, he has conducted
Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, heard
on CBC Stereo’s Saturday Afternoon at the Opera.
Internationally renowned for his work with young musicians,
Timothy led the McGill Symphony Orchestra in acclaimed
performances of Mahler’s Symphony #5 in Montreal.
Previously, Maestro Vernon has conducted the McGill
Orchestra in acclaimed performances at Carnegie Hall,
Lincoln Center, Roy Thomson Hall, the National Arts
Centre in Ottawa, Le Grande Theatre de Quebec, and
Montreal’s Place des Arts.
Of special note was his last performance with the
National Arts Centre Orchestra, conducting Ben Heppner
and Pinchas Zukerman in a concert seen on television
worldwide.
Robert
Gloor - Executive Director
Robert Gloor joined Orchestra London in June of 2002
after three years at the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra
and Winspear Centre, where he directed the Marketing
and Development departments. Robert’s prior roles
include Director of Marketing for Opera Ontario (Hamilton
and Kitchener) Marketing Manager for the Kitchener-Waterloo
Symphony, and General Manager of the London Youth Symphony.
Originally from the Stratford area, Robert attended
the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of
Music, where he studied both piano and voice and earned
a degree in Performance. Currently, he is pursuing
an Executive MBA degree through Queen’s School
of Business.
Kimberly
Parker - Director of Marketing & Development
Entering her second season with Orchestra London,
Kim brings over 20 years corporate/ commercial experience
to Orchestra London, having worked in various legal
firms in the City of London as Community Support Coordinator,
Marketing Assistant, Fundraising Officer, and Senior
Law Clerk. Kim’s community involvement includes
terms as Fundraising Chair, Treasurer, and finally
as President of Whitehills Childcare Association, as
well as three years as a Team Leader/Volunteer Coordinator
with the Canadian Association of Fitness Professionals
at their international training conference in Toronto.
Eadie
Micks - Director of Finance & Operations
Although Eadie has only been with Orchestra London
for a short period of time, she brings a wealth of
knowledge to the Management Team. With over 20 years
experience in accounting, she has worked in various
capacities within the financial industry and has spent
the last 11 years working in the not-for-profit sector,
specifically with the Boys’ & Girls’ Club
of London.
