Jacqueline Beth Milne, viola

Jacqueline was born in Springfield Massachusetts and began playing the viola at the age of 10.

They adopted their beautiful daughter Helen Elizabeth in 1992 as a newborn and since 2009 owned her own show horse Saint Gabriel. She competed on the South West Trillium circuit and is a very accomplished Hunter/Jumper.

Helen now attends Brock University where she is studying to become a teacher for children with special needs.

Jacqueline was a student of Viola performance at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa and studied 10 years with William Preucil, Professor and violist of the Stradivari String Quartet at the University of Iowa.

Her other principal teachers were Paul Doktor, Concert violist and renowned teacher throughout Europe and North America; and Donald McInnes, renowned solo violist, recording artist and teacher. She participated in concerts and extensive chamber music with David Soyer, Principal cellist of the Guareri String Quartet and lastly Nathan Gordon, former Principal Violist of the Detroit Symphony.

Jacqueline joined Orchestra London in 1982 after a year as Principal and Assistant viola in Orquest Sinfonica de Veracruz in Veracruz , Mexico. In Mexico she met her current husband of 30 years, Mel Martin, section first violin for Orchestra London.

Jacqueline plays on a Leo Aschauer viola made in Mittenwald that her father bought her from William Moennig in Philadelphia, PA.
