Grades K-4

Peter & the Wolf

Master Puppeteer Matthew Romain performs a shadow puppet
presentation of Prokofiev’s classic tale, Peter and the Wolf. This program, aimed at the K-4 level, introduces students to the instruments of the orchestra while caricatures of Peter’s animal friends take an adventure beyond the garden gate.

This concert also features a new commission developed through the Young Composers Project. The Young Composers Project, sponsored by 3M, invites composers and musicians into the classroom. The composer works with the students while Orchestra London musicians demonstrate their instruments in order to create a brand new composition. Last spring, local composer Jeff Smallman and the grade two class at Clara Brenton Public School composed a beautiful Theme and Variations that you’re sure to love.
